  Please note that even with (from what I could see) no one else on the property our group of three struggled to have a consistent hot shower. It faded in and out at the opportune time of soap in eyes or shampoo in hair

  Amazing views, great food, nice staff. Only downside is that the showers are a bit lousy.

  The property is country , a little dusty and worn but fine for a short stay. Included continental brekkie is simple - take it for your day trek to the mountain. Double beds are two single beds lined up. Not comfortable but OK for a night. As usual in these places - bring your own pillow as the included were super soft.

  Quiet basic setting - suits groups of younger easy going people (ie backpackers or school friends) or perhaps a last minute catch for a family on route to somewhere else.

  I made an online booking at Habitat Chalet, but the website did not supply any contact details until after the booking was completed, and I had entered credit card details as security. I was already a little nervous, and needed to check a few details and obtain directions and reassurance. I tried on numerous times over the next 4 days to contact Habitat Chalet directly by phone using the only contact means they provided. Each time I got a message saying "Hi, this is Tali?, Sorry I can't take your call, please leave a message" , then it switched to message bank and I got the message "Sorry, this message bank is full! Goodbye" I concluded that many other people were having the same problem trying to contact the Chalet. I got badly spooked as I couldn't afford to turn up in their remote location only to find that the place had closed down and I had no accommodation. I cancelled my booking via the online website, but they still took my money. No explanation and no apology.

  Clean and comfortable, our room has 2 twin beds and 2 bunks very spacious and warm. Cooked breakfast is served Evey morning with a selection of breads and cereals. The one downside is that during peak hours when guests all come back from the snow, the hot water systems don't cope. Overall I would still recommend this place, its about a 20 minute drive to Threadbo.

  Stayed at Habitat Chalet for 3 nights. Found it completely charming with a real alpine feel.

  A good place for a night or two crash during the off season around kosciusko.
